Glasshouse Extension Privacy Policy
Effective 3 October 2026.
Who provides Glasshouse
Glasshouse is provided by Better Brain Lab LLC ("we," "us"). It helps you review the access reported for installed extensions, compare that access with open sites, and inspect local change history. Chrome Inspector additionally offers an optional, user-initiated static scan of a published Chrome Web Store package.

At a glance
- Extension inventory, open-site comparisons, settings, change history and saved scan results are processed on your device.
- Glasshouse does not send your extension inventory, open tabs, site history or scan results to Better Brain Lab. It has no account system, advertising, telemetry, crash-reporting service or cloud-sync feature.
- Optional site-origin history is off by default. You can clear it or turn it off in Glasshouse.
- When you explicitly run or repeat a Chrome Inspector scan, your browser requests that extension's published package from Google. Google receives the selected extension ID and ordinary connection information, as described below.
Information the extension uses locally
- Installed-extension information. Glasshouse reads the names, identifiers, versions, enabled state, installation source and permissions reported by your browser. It may also read metadata such as an extension's homepage. It saves permission snapshots and a change timeline so that later changes can be explained and permission increases can trigger a browser notification.
- Open-tab addresses. Glasshouse reads the addresses exposed by the browser's tabs API to compare reported host permissions with currently open HTTP(S) sites. These addresses are reduced to site origins for the comparison. This feature does not read page contents, form entries, passwords or cookies, and does not save a full-URL browsing-history list.
- Optional site-origin history. If you enable the site-counting setting, Glasshouse records an HTTP(S) site's origin and the time it was last seen during tab navigation. An origin contains the scheme, hostname and, when applicable, port; it does not contain the URL path, query string or fragment. These records support the displayed count of distinct sites visited within the rolling window.
- Preferences. Your selected language, theme, numeral system and site-history preference are stored in the extension's local browser storage.
- Chrome Inspector results. A completed, version-matched scan can save a timestamp, manifest facts, referenced domains, static findings, limited source excerpts and a score contribution under the extension ID and version. Downloaded package bytes are analysed in memory rather than retained as a package file by Glasshouse.
- Chrome Inspector request log. A local Network Log records attempted package requests, their times, destination URLs and reasons. The log includes the ID of the extension you chose to scan; a recorded attempt does not necessarily mean a download succeeded.
Network requests and differences between builds
Glasshouse Sealed for Chrome and the current Firefox builds have no package-download feature or Glasshouse-operated network service. Their extension-page security policy blocks network connections. Browser-managed installation and update traffic is controlled by the browser and its store.
Glasshouse Inspector for Chrome downloads a package only when you select a scan action such as Run Code X-ray, Rescan or Retry. The initial HTTPS request goes to clients2.google.com and may redirect to Google's googleusercontent.com download infrastructure. The request contains the selected extension's identifier and your Chrome major version. Google also receives your IP address and the connection and request metadata normally exposed by an HTTPS request. The request does not upload your full extension inventory, browsing history, page contents or scan results.
The package is analysed locally. Opening Glasshouse, refreshing its inventory or displaying a saved result does not automatically download a package. Google's handling of download requests is governed by its privacy policy. Glasshouse does not control Google's retention of those requests.
Following a support, documentation or other external link opens a separate website and is subject to that website's practices. Reading this policy page itself is a visit to betterbrainlab.com, covered by the website privacy policy.
Why the extension requests permissions
managementlists installed extensions and their reported permissions. On Chrome, it also lets you disable an extension when you choose that action and the browser permits it.tabsprovides tab addresses for open-site comparisons and, only when enabled, local origin tracking.storagesaves preferences, snapshots, timelines and Inspector results locally.notificationsdisplays alerts about observed permission increases.- Chrome Inspector's host permissions for

Firefox may provide less extension metadata and does not support Glasshouse's Chrome-only disable and package-scan actions. The interface identifies unavailable information instead of treating it as a clean result.
Retention and deletion
- Site-origin history: records older than 30 days since their last recorded visit are pruned when another origin is recorded or the enabled history view refreshes. Pruning is activity-based, so an inactive browser may retain an older record until one of those operations runs. Turning tracking off clears the saved origins; the history control also offers an immediate purge.
- Extension timelines: the latest 200 events per extension are retained. Snapshots and timelines have no separate time-based expiry. Removing another extension may leave its local history in Glasshouse.
- Saved scans: Forget scan removes the saved result for the selected extension and version. A successfully saved newer-version scan prunes that extension's older-version results. Otherwise, saved results have no automatic time-based expiry. Cancelled or failed rescans retain any previous successful result.
- Network Log: the latest 500 entries are retained until replaced by newer entries or you select Clear log.
- All local extension data: you can remove it using your browser's extension-data controls or by uninstalling Glasshouse. Browser profiles, backups and device-level copies are managed by your browser or operating system.
Better Brain Lab does not hold a server copy of these local records and cannot access or erase them remotely.
Support messages and information sharing
If you contact us, we receive the email address and information you choose to include. We use that information to respond to your request and resolve the issue, and retain it only as long as necessary for that purpose or a legal obligation. Our email and support service providers may process these communications on our behalf; information may also be disclosed when required by law. Please avoid sending browsing history, sensitive source excerpts or other personal information unless it is necessary for the support request.
We do not sell local extension data, use it for advertising or transfer it to data brokers. Glasshouse does not use local extension data to train AI models. Any information you choose to send us for support is separate from the extension's local processing.
Limited use
Glasshouse's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Data handled by Glasshouse is used to provide the extension's described user-facing features, not for advertising, unrelated profiling or resale.
Security and your rights
Package requests use HTTPS. Local records are held in your browser profile; Glasshouse does not add a separate encryption layer or password to that storage. Anyone with access to your device or profile may be able to access it. Keep your browser and operating system updated and protect access to your device.
You control local records using the deletion options above. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict personal information that you have sent to us, including rights under the GDPR or CCPA. Contact support@betterbrainlab.com to make a request.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page and its effective date when the extension's data practices change. If a future feature needs additional permissions or consent, the required notice and choice will be provided before that feature handles additional data.
For use of the extension, see the Glasshouse Extension Terms. For use of this website, see the separate Better Brain Lab website terms.
